Squirrel Bait were a great band from Louisville KY that showed punk rock`s transition from the hardcore era to indie rock. The members went on to other great bands like SLINT and Gastr Del Sol; there`s a great cover of Phil Ochs `s"Tape From California" that just rocks.

Plenty of melody and passion, well worth investigating if you dig this kind of thing and the Husker Du & early Nirvana comparisons are spot on.
