Following a breakout year that saw her win Best Independent Hip-Hop EP/Album and Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year at the 2025 AIR Awards, three ARIA Awards nominations — including Best Independent Release and Best Hip-Hop Release for her debut EP KANINNA — and an internationally acclaimed sold-out 18-date tour across the UK and Europe supporting Irish rappers Kneecap, Miss Kaninna returns with a powerful remix EP, reimagining key tracks from her award-winning debut EP, KANINNA.
Floating effortlessly between Hip-Hop, R&B, rock and pop, Miss Kaninna continues to expand her sonic universe — this time, through the lens of some of the most exciting producers across so-called Australia, Aotearoa and the U.S.. East Bay music and movement artist Coflo (Yoruba, Freerange, Local Talk) delivers three remixes for ‘Dawg In Me’ and ‘Black Britney’ moving from raw, syncopated club energy, to dub-inspired deep house and dark four-to-the-floor grooves. Alexander Flood (Atjazz, Jakarta, Ropeadope) flips ‘Black Britney’ into a swinging disco house burner, laced with 2000s electronica and a hint of Brazil. Naarm-based producer/drummer Kawel Che (Maru Elias) goes downtempo with a amapiano-inspired version of ‘Push Up’, featuring Waanyi/Gangaliida rapper Jamahl Yami. Close Counters’ (Nervous, Glitterbox) Allan McConnell steps out as TURBO CHOOK taking ‘Pinnacle Bitch’ into high-tempo club territory — blending Jersey Club, broken beat and jungle with the energy of the queer club scene. And Aotearoa’s Bharu — recognised by Timbaland — brings his signature multi-layered groove to ‘Pinnacle Bitch’ making its streaming debut after first appearing as a vinyl exclusive. Each producer adds a distinct voice to the dialogue between rhythm, resistance, and identity — the result a body of work that honours Miss Kaninna’s community roots while pushing toward a global sound.
