BIG BOYS 'Where's My Towel/ Industry Standard' LP

$49.00

Originally released in 1981, Where’s My Towel / Industry Standard marked the debut of Austin, Texas punk trailblazers Big Boys. Emerging from the late-’70s scene, the group—fronted by the flamboyant and charismatic Randy “Biscuit” Turner—stood apart for their genre-defying approach. With Tim Kerr on guitar, Chris Gates on bass, and future Scratch Acid drummer Rey Washam among their rotating percussionists, the band veered from breakneck hardcore into funk-infused punk and early post-punk experimentation.

Famed for their high-energy shows, inclusive ethos, and refusal to follow punk’s narrow rules, Big Boys became icons of the early skate punk movement—helped by their appearances on Thrasher magazine’s influential skate comps. Their freewheeling sets, which might include a Kool & the Gang cover or a call to “start your own band,” helped break down the line between performer and audience, carving a space for fun, freedom, and fearless musical exploration.
