LEAH SENIOR 'Pt. Roadknight' LP

Somewhere between Sandy Denny’s arresting clarity and Vashti Bunyan’s gentle depth sits the luminous voice of Australian folk diviner Leah Senior. While the style and instrumentation of ‘70s Brit folk are touchstones on Senior’s forthcoming album, Pt. Roadknight (out June 19th), her disarming lyrics are fresh and wholehearted, wrestling with modern concerns of gentrification and isolation while finding solace in the quiet beauty of the Victoria surfcoast town where she lives.

Leah Senior has been a shining star of the Australian folk scene for the past decade, touring extensively and sharing international stages with the likes of Wilco, Iron and Wine, Simon Joyner, Jessica Pratt, and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.

“Pt. Roadknight takes its title from the beach I was living right by, just outside of Anglesea, Victoria. I adored the town but always felt like an outsider, therefore the songs oscillate between introspection and nature worship, with the beauty of the place pulling me out of self reflection. The tension on the album comes from loving the solitude and distance from the city, relishing in the natural world but at the same time feeling misunderstood and isolated from my artistic community at times.” - Leah Senior
